During the event entitled "Artificial Human: the new era of Virtual Assistants", together with other speakers we talked about virtual assistants, voice technology, conversation design and multimodal interfaces. In this post I summarize the concepts and imagine the direction towards the future. Artificial Human: the new era of Virtual Assistants In this post, I summarize the India Mobile Number Data concepts I shared during the live broadcast. Voice technology: what does it consist of and what are the latest innovations today At the base of everything is Conversational AI , or Artificial Intelligence applied to conversation. And here we enter the domain of what is called NLP (Natural Language Processing) , and NLU (Natural Language Understanding) , which are now part of more mainstream jargon. In fact, we are faced with a system that receives input from a person, processes it to understand its intent , and through algorithms makes decisions accordingly, for example it offers answers, presents material, files, executes other applications, etc.
The input that users give can be text, voice ( which is recognized and transformed into text to be processed... although this step will probably be excluded shortly ), it can be something else... today, in fact we talk more and more about multimodal interfaces . Here, then, is what is meant by voice technology : systems that can listen to people's voices, understand the request and carry out actions, including responding with their voice. the voice of the brand! As for what's new , the technology and algorithms are continually improving. We are now very demanding with evolution, but if we look at the " leaps ", in my opinion they are impressive.
